Debris, voids and long search cycles
USAR work is methodical and physically constrained. Sensing has to be portable, repositionable and honest about what it cannot see.
- Position Pods progressively as sectors are opened.
- Re-survey zones after debris is moved or shoring is installed.
- Use responder tags to keep team activity separate from unknown signals.
- Record coverage and confidence for each search cycle.

- Prioritisation between multiple candidate void spaces.
- Documentation of which areas have been sensed and how well.
- Coordination across sectors and rotating crews.
Limitations to plan around
- Dense reinforced concrete and metal strongly attenuate radio signals.
- Heavy machinery and site activity can add signal noise.
- No result should be read as proof that a void is empty.
